Storm Chiropractic Clinic Frequently Asked Questions

We’re glad that you’re considering Storm Chiropractic Clinic to serve your health care needs. You likely have some concerns that you want addressed. Here, you’ll find the answers to some of the questions that we’re asked most frequently.

Once I start seeing a chiropractor, do I always have to go forever?

When people begin to experience chiropractic, they realize they feel better, sleep better and aren’t sick as often. They want to continue care to use chiropractic as a preventative measure. You are not required to; we leave the choice up to you.

Does it hurt to be adjusted?

No. If you have an area that is inflamed, however, it may feel tender during the adjustment. If the pressure is ever too much for you, please let us know so that we can find another way to adjust you.

Does chiropractic cure everything?

Our doctors don’t see themselves as all-powerful. We respect you, your body and your time and will never continue to see you if we think that we’re not the right place for you. If you don’t respond to care or don’t have a chiropractic problem, we’ll be happy to refer you out to another provider.

Does insurance cover chiropractic?

The majority of plans have coverage for chiropractic. We will check your benefits on your first visit and let you know what your coverage is.

Will I need a referral from my physician to see a chiropractor?

Most insurances do not require a referral. Over our years in practice, there has been only a handful of plans that need a referral from a physician.

Do you work with medical doctors?

Yes. If we need to collaborate on your case or refer you to someone, we will be happy to do so. Particularly with our pregnant patients, we’ll make sure your obstetrician knows what we’re doing and why.

Will I be adjusted on my first visit?

No. We gather information on the first visit. Then, your chiropractor takes all the time needed to analyze your case and decide how best to adjust you. On your second visit, you’ll receive your first adjustment.

Do you give out exercises to do?

Yes. We often recommend specific exercises as part of your care.

Can someone who has had back surgery see a chiropractor?

Yes. There are few post-surgical cases that cannot be adjusted. If you’re unable to tolerate an adjustment, we have other options available to you, such as acupuncture.
